We have all heard the term “beauty sleep” before, but did you know you can truly improve your skin in your sleep?! Having an evening skin care routine may sounds intimidating, but it can be a relaxing ritual you look forward to every night. You don’t need to have a 25 step routine every night to ensure you wake up with refreshed and glowing skin, it can be quite simple and budget friendly. Your skin care is completely up to you and everyone has a different technique, but I’ve gathered my favorite essentials and simplified my routine to match every budget and skill level.
1. Cleanse and Remove Make-Up
Cleansing is a must to remove any dirt, oil, environment pollutants, and bacteria you may have collected on your skin throughout the day. You can do this step in the shower or at your sink.
2. Toner
Toner removes any dirt or impurities left on your face after you cleanse. It also tightens up your pores and balances the pH of your skin. This step ensure you have a nice clean base to start your serums.
3. Serums
Serums are where your skin is going to receive the most active ingredients to help improve your skin. Everyone will use different serums depending on their skin type and needs. A few universally loved serums include hyaluronic acid and niacinamide. Hyaluronic acid is popular because of its hydrating properties and help with reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Niacinamide is another amazing choice due to its ability to even out skin texture and brighten the face. TIP: Applying your serums with a jade or rose quartz roller makes it feel more luxurious while getting your blood flowing through your face.
4. Moisturizer
Last but certainly not least… Moisturizer! Moisturizer is essential to lock in your products and give you the best results in the morning. Since you are applying this in the evening, you do not need anything with a sunscreen in it. But don’t forget SPF in the morning!Ā
There are so many other fun masks and eye creams you can add in your routine on a weekly basis, but these are the everyday essentials to wake up with glowing skin.
Some nights when I really want to relax and unwind, I will listen to a mediation while I apply my serums and creams. I recorded one especially for your evening routine to get you ready to settle down and get ready for sleep.
Enjoy!
